About Me

Leanna Probizanski, BA, BEd, MSW, RSW (Owner)
I am a registered Master of Social Work counsellor, having received my MSW from Lakehead University. Prior to entering Social Work I obtained my undergraduate degree in Psychology as well as a concurrent degree in Education. Previously, I was a full-time elementary school teacher in Thunder Bay and subsequently I worked for several years in the medical field in pharmaceuticals. In addition, I have volunteered for many years with a non-profit palliative care organization and completed my master’s project work primarily in grief and bereavement. I have worked both within a clinical setting providing individual counselling as well as in a group setting with respect to residential addiction programming and organized grief groups. Since 2012, I have been providing evidence-based trauma therapy for First Responders across Ontario, both in-office and virtually. I hold certificates of completion in many therapeutic areas and continue to concentrate on regular professional development. I am currently registered with the College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers, a member in good standing with the Ontario Association of Social Workers and a certified member of the International Association of Trauma Professionals- certified as a Trauma Professional level II (CCTP-II). I am also a certified ADHD clinical service provider. A variety of methods are used in my approach to counselling and together we will build an approach that best suits your individual situation.
